In Joshua 1:8 it talks about the importance of studying the scriptures. In English, it says:
"This book of the alaw shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt bmeditate
therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all
that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous,
and then thou shalt have good success."
I'm not sure what "good success" means. I like success. To me success means I was able to accomplish what I set out to do. To some people it means you've achieved what you wanted to; you are where you want to be, and it is usually associated with our worldly status or situation.
In Spanish instead of saying you'll have success, it says "todo te saldrá bien" which is translated, all will turn out well for you.
I do like that better. I shouldn't necessarily expect SUCCESS in the world's sense, but to have everything turn out well, that's what I hope for. I have desires for the world, for my kids, for my marriage, and for our eternal destiny and I just want all to turn out well in the end. To have that promise, I will study and meditate upon the scriptures.
